Circumcision

The treatment of phymosis, a condition where the foreskin doesn’t fully retract from the head of the penis or penis glans, involves the removal of the foreskin or a minor operation to release its grip: the plastic surgeon will either perform a full circumcision, a dorsal slit consisting in cutting through the constricted foreskin without removing it, or a preputioplasty (Duhamel plasty) to cut open the phimotic ring which constricts the shaft of the penis and creates a “waist”.
