Breast augmentation surgery

  • This procedure aims to increase the volume of underdeveloped breasts in proportion to the figure of the patient.
  • Breast hypoplasia or micromastia can either be a permanent condition (post-pubertal underdevelopment of breasts, a birth defect such as Poland’s syndrome causing asymmetric development), or occur after significant weight loss or pregnancy.
  • The procedure involves inserting a breast implant behind natural tissue to increase the volume of the breast.
  • The patient may have hypoplasia alone or associated with ptosis, which will be corrected concurrently.
